Jessica Duban, Vocalist

Instrument: Vocalist

Year Joined the Band: 2011

Favorite Esquires Tune: My favorite song the band plays is Kiss of Fire. I love singing so many songs but some of my favorites are: What are you doing New Years Eve, All the Things You Are, I Can’t Believe that You’re in Love with Me, All of Me, Orange Colored Sky, Just a Little Bit South and Lady is a Tramp.

Musical Influences: My mom, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughn, Anita O’Day, Maria Callas, Stevie Wonder, John Coltrane, and Donny Hathaway.

Studying/Profession: College Advisor/ Counselor at college access non-profit One Voice Scholars Program helping high-achieving students in socio-economically depressed, inner city Los Angeles learn about, get into and graduate fromĀ  college.

A Little Something About Me: My first major performance was to a sold out crowd for a Padres Game at Jack Murphy Stadium (now Qualcomm) when I was six singing the national anthem. Nearly 25 years later, singing is still my favorite pastime.

Best Part About Being an Esquire: Being able to make amazing music with other equally passionate people.
